Chumukedima , October 27 ,2023 – Drama Competition is a strong medium of communication which helps one to develop dramatic skills and promote acting ability ,and to achieve that ,Sociology Department MMC, organizes an Inter-College District Level Drama Competition under the title “Developmental Cycle of Family” held in the Yashipokla Memorial Hall, MMC . In hopes to help students develop in the field of story building, narrative skills, acting and bring together students from different colleges where one could learn from and showcase their talents.
Dr.Tarun Kumar Jana ,Principal, Mount Mary College, gave a warm welcoming speech addressing the judges, guests and audience . Amongst the guests were Director and members of “Dreams Unlimited” ,a popular group known for creating videos ,which relate to the present scenario of the state of Nagaland and its people .
A total of 6 Groups took part in the competition, each compromising around 10 participants. A group each from “Tetso College” and “Yemhi Memorial College” and 4 more groups from Mount Mary College .The Competition was limited to dramas in the English language. The judgment was done on the basis of acting and dialogue delivery. The acting and expressions of the actors were truly out of the world which showcased their effort, trainings and time they had spent to perform with such excellence.
Renowned names in the field of Drama ,Mr.Tiakumzuk Aier, Director of “Dreams Unlimited” graced the events and shared his insight to help students develop further in the field of script writing and acting .
Tetso College was declared winner and a cash prize of Rs.5000/- was awarded for their outstanding performance , greeted with a thunderous applause by the audience .
Miss.Ventushu ,President ,MMC Sociology Department gave the vote of thanks . The Lecturers and students of the Sociology Department ,MMC played astellar role in organizing this competition .
